Models’ Basketball League – LeXXah Drew, Player Bio

Models’ Basketball League

LeXXah Drew Basketball 411 – Bio

Image LeXXah Drew is a talented and gifted phenomenal basketball player who would be a great asset as a person and player to any professional women’s basketball team. As a point guard/shooting guard, she sees the floor very well and has exhilarating speed, which is very deceptive. She has a quick first step and is hostile on defense. She has great active hands and footwork with a unique way of stealing the ball and getting deflections. LeXXah is strong, agile and fearless in taking the ball in the hole. With her great speed, she is able to slash in the lanes and find the open cutter or open man out on the perimeter to make the layup or knock down the open shot. LeXXah also has a nice jumper, which makes her not only a threat on defense, but on offense as well. LeXXah is very athletic, a solid decision maker and not afraid to take the big shot. She is coachable, is willing to work hard & smart, loves to hustle and she is in solid basketball shape.

LeXXah has had the luxury of being not only a basketball player, but a basketball Coach and basketball Referee. LeXXah was a 4 year varsity basketball player in High School, played for Northern Kentucky University for 2 seasons & WBCL Atlanta Battlecats, Semi-Pro for 1 season. In her Junior Yr. in High School, she was the Most Improved Player, a Western Kentucky University Lady Topper ALL-Star for the South team, Blue Chip Camper at Bellarmine University, JV Summer Camp Coach at the University of Louisville, Northern Kentucky University Student Athlete Academic Award, and College Sports Official/Referee for the Northern Kentucky University Intramurals Men & Women’s Basketball.

Basketball DNA – LeXXah Drew

There are many athletes out here that have that Athlete DNA and I happen to be one of them. Some people don’t have the talent, heart, grind, agility, endurance, cardio, muscle mass, IQ ect. to obtain this, all in which are features and characteristics of Athlete DNA, but I have truly been Blessed. Its an honor actually. There are a multitude of sports on this planet, but the sport I would like to focus on the most is Basketball.

Basketball is not only my favorite sport, but a sport that I have played, coached and officiated. So, that info alone tells you that the intelligence and experience of the game runs through my veins and my blood. I can not deny it.

I have a huge appreciation for female athletes no matter what sport they play. The sacrifice that female athletes make is a testament of the strength, determination and will of a woman. Its not easy. The obligations, roles and responsibilities that females take on is alot of stress on the genetic makeup of a female body. I have no complaints though. The stress, the soreness, the daily workout routine, staying fit and staying healthy is one of the greatest things ever.

I’m LeXXah Drew, point guard/shooting guard, #3, Defensive guru, athletic, quick, fast, high basketball IQ and……….well, to make a long story short, I have Basketball DNA and I show it with class and confidence.

What Tha HECK Heat!?

I’m having one of those moments where I’m laughing cuz I’m frustrated with how my team is playing.

I mean I know their going to be alright, but this just pisses me off when I’m watching my team play and their not playing up to their potential. Where is the effort MIAMI!!??

WHERE!!??

Now, I’m actually not doing too bad because in the past I’ve yelled at the screen, but this time around, I didn’t want to stress.

I actually took time out to just sit and look and watch how my team was performing out there on the court and there wasn’t anything to say. And when they made a few plays, I didn’t cheer a whole lot because I understand where Miami is and how good they are. I expect them to get steals and dunk and shoot well and pass the ball well and be one unit on defense. They are a championship caliber team.

Why wouldn’t I expect that. This game against the Knicks, I hope was a wake up call. I don’t know which is worse, losing to the Wizards on the road or losing to the Knicks at home in a blowout game. Both seem pretty bad to me.

But then I come back to last season when Miami had these woes and the good thing about what they went through then is that they came out. We are in a defensive identity crisis right now.

Injuries have taken a toll, but every team has that, so that doesn’t count. I’m a basketball player, so I’m not on that right now. I try to take out all biasness and just look at the facts.

HEAT, ya’ll gotta get it together. The flaws and weaknesses are sticking out like a sore thumb. Its time to address and progress, not digress.

I’m not in panic mode or anything like that, but this is what is and what I’m feeling right now. As a Heat fan, I want to see my team do well and to show night in and night out, their superiority over other teams. But, it is a long season and there is still time to fix it before the playoffs because thats when it will matter most.

My Heat are going through right now and I’m going through it with them. Battier, Chalmers, Cole, UD, get healthy. Wade keep improving, know you’ve been putting in extra work to get back to your original form, LBJ, keep doing your thing you’re on a roll, Bosh, you’ve had a couple of bad games but I know you’ll bounce back. Shuttlesworth, you are proving why you are a good candidate for being a 6th man, keep doing what you do. Rashard, where you at man!? You were doing things in earlier games, but then you became stagnant? Whats going on?

And I’m not saying this because of these last 2 games. Heat have been mingling with fire for awhile now and the fire has caught up. Its time to get back to playing our game, playing to our identity and playing up to our potential. Defense wins the ships, that hasn’t changed and never will.

Build Your Resume’

At all times.

Something is always being added and nothing is ever being taken away.

That’s the cool things about building your resume’. It can only get better.

Your life and everything you do is always an update from where you were or what you were doing on yesterday. You have gone somewhere else. You have increased in getting closer to another accomplishment.

It speaks volumes, moreso than not.

Preparation is all the time. Just like how you prepare to eat something, you prepare to wake up the next morning, you prepare to take a shower and put some clothes on.

To build means another chance, another opportunity to grow, to promote you and what you do. It is important. We as humans naturally want to go up, to do better, to build upon what we already have.

Miami Heat Minglin’ with FIRE!!!

Lord knows, I LOVE my Heat, but I think ALL Heat fans can agree that we are mingling with FIRE!!!

Heat SuperStar Power

We have seen a glimpse of the future, witnessing a taste of what a powerhouse the Heat can be. These last 2 games have shown, what most sports editors have referred to the Heat as mortal, vulnerable, etc.

I look at those words and they make my stomach quench. As a fan I hate to see those types of adjectives when describing my favorite team, but from a basketball player and Coach point of view, its not that bad.

I believe the Heat have a clever, nifty strategy of playing with fire, meaning during regular season not showing all their colors or showing all of their cards. We are building up to the climax, the playoffs, the Finals. Yes, we are still improving our chemistry as any other team, trying to get better, but the Heat are not concerned.

I look at the game against Memphis and Houston and as a fan I got really worked up, frustrated throughout the game, trying to figure out, why these dudes were not playing up to their potential. But like last season, Miami struggled with their perimeter defense. Defending the opposing team’s 3 point shooters has always been a hassle for us. But then again, late in the season around playoff time, we figured it out. We became the fire and opponent team’s could not put us out.

The game against Memphis was a lost cost from the start. The Heat did not come out with any fire, any sense of urgency or passion, especially on the defensive end. Offense was there, but between turnovers and not playing to our identity as Coach Spoe often puts it, we didn’t give ourselves a chance.
It became Deja Vu, the Knicks game opener pretty much.

When I witness these types of games, I look at these games as messages being sent to the teams around the league. Every team is trying to figure Miami out and the crazy thing is, is that all 29 teams are working together. Putting their professional high IQ cliff notes together and finding ways and strategies to beat the 2012 NBA Champs.

2012 NBA Champions, the Miami Heat

That’s in the back of my mind all the time. The game against Houston, on paper, we should not have won, but we pulled out that ugly grind out game and came out with the “W”. The Rockets ran the same exact play on us and it took us forever to make adjustments. We made 2 key defensive stops during clutch time that really helped us execute down the stretch, not to mention LBJ’s heroic offense that carried us to victory! Outstanding might I add.

The Heat have been exposed and have been exploited badly, but as bad as it may seem its actually a good thing. First of all, I would rather it happen now then later in the season, so to give us time to address these weaknesses and also to keep misleading the rest of the 29 teams. I kind of actually like the fact that we are at this moment appearing mortal and vulnerable in the eyes of other teams. Its almost like a camouflage of blending in with everybody else but not. Its giving the media the edge on focusing on other teams doing well such as the Knicks, Memphis, even the Lakers, so that just for awhile we go under the radar.

Heat, heating up the bench

The Heat are already a talk of the town priority because we won the championship, a little less attention won’t hurt. It is a huge gamble to play with fire in my opinion and mingling with fire is very dangerous, but when has anything for the Heat NOT been dangerous since the arrival of Lebron James & Chris Bosh from 2 years ago and now the acquiring of Ray Allen & Rashard Lewis and who knows, possibly Kenyon Martin!!!

The Heat will always have a huge target on the back. And its going to be like that from here on out. That’s one thing I can say, no one is sleeping on the Heat, we are just too Hot, literally.

Become the FIRE!

It will be interesting to see how the game plays out on tonight against the Clippers. As any Heat fan, I am expecting the “W”. It will be challenging though. It won’t be anything like the pre-season games in China. We are going into the Clippers house who just might be taking over LA (Hint, hint). I’m excited about it and will be watching.

Playing with FIRE on tonight is not advised, but playing with FIRE is advised. I hope you understood what I meant. The Heat have more losses than wins against this Clipper team and I most definitely would like to address that by getting that “W” on tonight. But we all know what the end goal for Miami is and that’s repeating as champions, building the legacy, the dynasty of which, Pat Riley spoke of in bringing these Superstars and team together.

Let’s Go Heat! HeatNation ALL Day! Don’t Hate and don’t Imitate. Teams can’t be us nor like us, we have our own thing going on. Its called, Heat Identity!
