My Tag & Signature, “LeXXah Drew It”

20121217-151052.jpg

Because I did it.
I Drew it.
Did you know that a canvas can be anything. A canvas can be the ground, the air, a stool, a computer screen, a sheet of paper, a piece of wood, a stellar music track, the mic, a wall, you get the point.

I draw on these canvases all the time.

My Mother & my Father taught me at a young age that anytime I do something, a task, an assignment, a project or whatever it may be, that when I’m finished, people should view my work as the best, high quality, distinguished, astronomical and prestigious, why? Because my name is on it. My signature is on that project and on the track. People will know the worth and value of my work and when they ask who did it? The word on the street will be…

LeXXah Drew It!

I take pride in anything and everything I do. I want people to know what I do and what I did. I want people to say, “Man, that song was all that, it gave me goosebumps or that song is HOT! I want to hear more of her, where can I go to check her out!”

I want people to say, “Man, that art piece was off the chain who did it?”

LeXXah Drew It!

“Man, that blog was beautiful and so was that poem, who wrote that?”

LeXXah Drew It!

You should think of my tag and signature not so much as a first and last name, but moreso as a phrase because really that’s what it is.

Even without the “It” at the end, “LeXXah Drew” is still a phrase. The cool thing about it is I use a whole lot of capital letters. What can I say, I love breaking the rules, breaking the norms and being different.

Attention to detail is huge for me. It’s something that separates the professionals from the amateurs. Even with something little as a phrase.

I am a Multi Artist at a very high level. And when people hear me, see me, hear my work, see my work, read my writings, my blogs, watch my videos etc. all will know LeXXah Drew It!

Yea, my phrase is past tense, but that just means I’m working on yet another stellar joint, record, drawing. I’m about that life, all studio flows. Didn’t you get the memo, there’s not just one studio flow, but many.

This is my tag and this is my signature. Like it or not,

They Watch from a Distance………………

20121203-224327.jpg

LOL.

Yea, its complicated and frustrating and interesting.

I think it has more to do with your level, your bread and popularity according to who knows you. It has absolutely nothing to do with talent.

So, they wait and watch from a distance. They are never too close where if you don’t make it, they can say that they had nothing to do with you, but they are not too far where if you do make it, they were with you all along.

I know that game, do you?

At some point in time or another, one may go through this. It literally is a watching game. A spectator game.

It is, what can you do for me and if the answer is nothing or it doesn’t have FREE up in there somewhere, its just a keep on walking and don’t say nothing. It looks appealing to look though.

I think it is more about just waiting to see what happens, how your life plays out. People want to see what they can get out of you.

So, here you are, busting your butt to accomplish something larger than life and the distance watchers watching from afar. If the signs are promising and become true, they want in on what you’re doing. They want a piece of the pie.

They are not or were not apart of your struggle, but yet they want to be apart of your success. They say things like, “Remember ME when you get there.” “Don’t forget about ME when you get to the top.” “Don’t forget about the little people.”

They put their 2 cents in to try and secure a place with you right before you make it. And still, they watch from a distance. They don’t want to support or help the cause and/or dream, but they want to enjoy the fruits of someone else’s hard working labor.

And the crazy thing is, is that those who do this, would be in denial. No one wants to believe that this type of person being described would be them. They would not claim this description, even though they may shake their head in agreement while reading this.

It literally is funny how that works. I have seen it. Watchers won’t reveal themselves to you. They are too smooth for that. They ease drop and every 2 or 3 months they either call you or stop by to chat with you on FB or Twitter to see if you made it yet. But they don’t just flat out ask you that question. Its indirect.

If it has happened to you, you understand where I’m coming from and understand what I’m talking about. I’ve peeped that sorry game, but one thing I can definitely say about those who watch from a distance, is you learn about what is to come, you learn about who people really are, you learn about who is really on your side and who wants to see you succeed, you learn about how they see you and some see you as a foot stool.

Its nothing to be mad about. You can’t do anything about that, but you can be more aware of whats going on and pay attention to what people are saying and implying through casual conversation. You can be more observant to your surroundings and be street smart.

Watching from a distance is a safe zone for some people. They don’t want to be embarrassed or ashamed that they were seen with you or at one point in time, they were supporting you. They are concerned about whose watching them. They are afraid to be affiliated with an idea if it goes south.

I speak this from experience. I’m not just making this stuff up. I don’t write or speak just to hear myself talk. If I did, I wouldn’t like myself, but since I do like myself, I speak and write with purpose and reason. Somebody out there may not be aware of those who just watch.

There are watchers at all kinds of different levels, but you always have the traditional watchers, in which I described above. Those watchers never change. Stay on the look out, especially when you are a person who dreams BIG and that dream starts out as a concept that you believe in!

The Storm Inside the Brain

The masses already know about the brainstorming, but very few know about the storm inside the brain.

Those that are diehard artists know about it, because the creativity can be overwhelming to the point that one is not able to apply the creation as fast as it is being thought up.

This is both on the right and the left side of the brain, but of course, moreso the right.

I am diagnosed with this symptom badly.

It is painful and it is peaceful. It is double sided.

It is literally like a forever going storm inside of you that effects your every being.

The creativity that flows inside my brain and transcends throughout my body is a whirlwind of natural disasters, in a good way of course. But it can often times cause my stress levels to go haywire.

Its in me too good, to well. I don’t despise it. The chaos and turmoil is beautiful. I guess that’s just what comes with the gift of artistry, creativity, imagination, dreaming big and fantasizing.

There is a deep love and passion within the storm.

And like every storm, there is an eye. A comforting peace that this beautiful gift will never run out. It is with you always. Its got your name on it.

I always say that, I have so much creativity that I could give some away and still have plenty left.

“Thats what you call creativity beyond its borders. It is an overflow of consistently breaking the rules, breaking the laws and getting away with it every single time. Talk about a guilty conscience.

It is an overflow of imperfection and perfection and you are stoned for both.

It is an overflow of having so much to offer and giving to the world of mankind and often times than not, being devalued, unappreciated, no and/or little respect.”

The storm is gratifying and in the same breath it is a curse. It is a steady reminder that the weathers are needed to bring flavor where it is flavorless, but also, despair, in the sense that it can be dark, lonely and secluded.

Isn’t it just beautiful. Now you can kind of relate to a crazy person.

And just in case you didn’t know, all artists are crazy, most in a good way, but I can’t speak for everyone.

I won’t. Some people’s craziness is on another level, beyond understanding.

But I can speak for mine and it is a creative sane craziness. The storm is a wild goose chase, but I do my best to keep it under raps and contained so that it doesn’t drive me too nuts.

Its a mad storm and it dwells inside my brain at all times. All I can seem to say is, “Thank You Lord!”
