What Should LOVE feel like!?

Let’s start with something easy………for one, it should feel good.

Not just according to the flesh or physically, but spiritually, mentally, emotionally, orally, metaphorically, figuratively and literally.

Love should feel like an abundance of peace and comfort.

Please don’t mistaken the word, “LOVE” for the word, “LUST”. 2 different things, 2 different entities and 2 different words that derive from 2 different sources.

Many people confuse these 2 terms as the same and they’re not. So, I just wanted to address that before I go any further.

In theory, “LOVE” should be & feel unconditional. It should feel light and natural like the air we breathe. The majority of the stress is positive stress. “LOVE” should feel like understanding and knowing that under any circumstances that love purposely will not harm you. The approach is patient and kind. Envious and keeping track of wrongs and holding grudges is not how love should feel.

Love should feel good. Okay, then what is good?

According to Dictionary.com
1. morally excellent; virtuous; righteous
2. satisfactory in quality, quantity, or degree
3. of high quality; excellent.

You know how “LOVE” should feel. So, does it actually feel to you on a daily basis? Does how it should feel match up to how it actually is?

Songwriting is more than just writing lyrics!

20130207-104724.jpg

Its actually writing a SONG! A song that has a hot melodic structure, strong content, movement, consistency in verse quality, smooth transitions, marketability, a strong catchy hook, a unique concept that reaches the market in which you are trying to reach, vocal production, vocal arrangements, conviction and feeling, and last but not least, growth.

After you finish with the song, it should have the ability to stand the test of time.

This is what songwriting is. Songwriting is what makes the song complete. As a creator in lyrics, you have to take in account all these areas that I have listed above. One feature of it is just as important as the next feature. They are all needed in order to come to the product finale of a stellar hit marketable song that can be placed in a variety of multi-media.

Songwriting is not easy for those who think it is. When you take into account the characteristics, its very tedious. It is imperative to be a student and stay on top of hot topics, melodic structures, dynamics and animation within a song. Music is constantly changing, you must know how to change with it.

Writing songs is in my DNA. I understand what it takes to put together a great song, a hit song. I have a formula, but my formula may not be the same as yours. It is something that one must find as you focus in on your craft.

Its so important for people to understand what songwriting really is. I’m writing this to open up the minds of writers that its way bigger than what you may see on the surface. You are putting together a film, a scene and in that film and scene, you have to see the whole picture not just one aspect of it.

Paint the masterpiece of your song. Fill in the darker darks and the lighter lights. Let the audience know where the light source is coming from and where the shadows will hit. Choose your medium well, your target market. accomplish the goals of every stroke to gear towards that market while maintaining the identity and personality of the subject matter. The concept and you as its host, must be one. I know you can hear it. break down and build to inherit its proximity (the art term). It is a beautiful thing!

“I Sing Because I’m Happy”

20121203-222813.jpg

I sing because in this world, I’m not FREE, the real Free.

So I sing so that in my spiritual form I can be Free.

God makes my world beautiful and if it wasn’t for Him, things would be in worse conditions.

I know the beginning was not what you expected for those who know the song, but I think things should be clarified.

This is not preaching nor is it chuuurch! If you are looking for that then bible study is coming up on Wednesday and church is this Sunday. You may not want to miss the morning service.

Let me tell you something about happiness…………. It feels so good when I doo-doo in the toilet. You know why?

Because the body rids itself of all the toxic wastes & bacteria that doesn’t belong while allowing you body to be relieved of a heavy burden.

The experience is rejuvenating. You know, you’ve experienced it. It is that moment when you close your eyes and have that relief smile on your face and your head pointed up in the sky like you are receiving a Blessing from above.

That my friend isn’t just by design. It is spiritual. You experience such freedom in your mind, body and soul.

It is the same when you drink water after a long hot day outside or after an intense workout. The way that water dances with your tongue, marinates with you saliva and runs down your throat, it’s manifestation. You are being delivered from dehydration. It is freedom, a freedom that makes you happy.

So happy that in you spirit you want to sing. You know of this, you do.

Take the shower for example, when that hot or super warm heat hits every ounce of your body as it marinates with the suds from the soap. It washes away and cleanses the dirt off and away. And like a kid, you play with the water, it’s flow, it’s delivery.

And the feeling is just so right that you begin to sing in the shower. It is a relaxation that you have to sing about. Sometimes you’re putting on a stellar concert, other times you’re practicing in the rehearsal hall, but no matter what you are singing because you are happy. You are singing because in all three of those moments you are free.

In this world, we are not free and I’m not talking about prison. There are other forces outside of prison that limit our freedom. But God, provides such freedom and Blessings that when all seems to fail in this world, He doesn’t. It’s a GREAT feeling.

We are reminded when we doo-doo, when we drink water & when we take showers.

Take note when you do these things and sing your heart out, sing because you are HAPPY!
