Models’ Basketball League – LeXXah Drew, Player Bio

Models’ Basketball League

LeXXah Drew Basketball 411 – Bio

Image LeXXah Drew is a talented and gifted phenomenal basketball player who would be a great asset as a person and player to any professional women’s basketball team. As a point guard/shooting guard, she sees the floor very well and has exhilarating speed, which is very deceptive. She has a quick first step and is hostile on defense. She has great active hands and footwork with a unique way of stealing the ball and getting deflections. LeXXah is strong, agile and fearless in taking the ball in the hole. With her great speed, she is able to slash in the lanes and find the open cutter or open man out on the perimeter to make the layup or knock down the open shot. LeXXah also has a nice jumper, which makes her not only a threat on defense, but on offense as well. LeXXah is very athletic, a solid decision maker and not afraid to take the big shot. She is coachable, is willing to work hard & smart, loves to hustle and she is in solid basketball shape.

LeXXah has had the luxury of being not only a basketball player, but a basketball Coach and basketball Referee. LeXXah was a 4 year varsity basketball player in High School, played for Northern Kentucky University for 2 seasons & WBCL Atlanta Battlecats, Semi-Pro for 1 season. In her Junior Yr. in High School, she was the Most Improved Player, a Western Kentucky University Lady Topper ALL-Star for the South team, Blue Chip Camper at Bellarmine University, JV Summer Camp Coach at the University of Louisville, Northern Kentucky University Student Athlete Academic Award, and College Sports Official/Referee for the Northern Kentucky University Intramurals Men & Women’s Basketball.

Basketball DNA – LeXXah Drew

There are many athletes out here that have that Athlete DNA and I happen to be one of them. Some people don’t have the talent, heart, grind, agility, endurance, cardio, muscle mass, IQ ect. to obtain this, all in which are features and characteristics of Athlete DNA, but I have truly been Blessed. Its an honor actually. There are a multitude of sports on this planet, but the sport I would like to focus on the most is Basketball.

Basketball is not only my favorite sport, but a sport that I have played, coached and officiated. So, that info alone tells you that the intelligence and experience of the game runs through my veins and my blood. I can not deny it.

I have a huge appreciation for female athletes no matter what sport they play. The sacrifice that female athletes make is a testament of the strength, determination and will of a woman. Its not easy. The obligations, roles and responsibilities that females take on is alot of stress on the genetic makeup of a female body. I have no complaints though. The stress, the soreness, the daily workout routine, staying fit and staying healthy is one of the greatest things ever.

I’m LeXXah Drew, point guard/shooting guard, #3, Defensive guru, athletic, quick, fast, high basketball IQ and……….well, to make a long story short, I have Basketball DNA and I show it with class and confidence.

What Tha HECK Heat!?

I’m having one of those moments where I’m laughing cuz I’m frustrated with how my team is playing.

I mean I know their going to be alright, but this just pisses me off when I’m watching my team play and their not playing up to their potential. Where is the effort MIAMI!!??

WHERE!!??

Now, I’m actually not doing too bad because in the past I’ve yelled at the screen, but this time around, I didn’t want to stress.

I actually took time out to just sit and look and watch how my team was performing out there on the court and there wasn’t anything to say. And when they made a few plays, I didn’t cheer a whole lot because I understand where Miami is and how good they are. I expect them to get steals and dunk and shoot well and pass the ball well and be one unit on defense. They are a championship caliber team.

Why wouldn’t I expect that. This game against the Knicks, I hope was a wake up call. I don’t know which is worse, losing to the Wizards on the road or losing to the Knicks at home in a blowout game. Both seem pretty bad to me.

But then I come back to last season when Miami had these woes and the good thing about what they went through then is that they came out. We are in a defensive identity crisis right now.

Injuries have taken a toll, but every team has that, so that doesn’t count. I’m a basketball player, so I’m not on that right now. I try to take out all biasness and just look at the facts.

HEAT, ya’ll gotta get it together. The flaws and weaknesses are sticking out like a sore thumb. Its time to address and progress, not digress.

I’m not in panic mode or anything like that, but this is what is and what I’m feeling right now. As a Heat fan, I want to see my team do well and to show night in and night out, their superiority over other teams. But, it is a long season and there is still time to fix it before the playoffs because thats when it will matter most.

My Heat are going through right now and I’m going through it with them. Battier, Chalmers, Cole, UD, get healthy. Wade keep improving, know you’ve been putting in extra work to get back to your original form, LBJ, keep doing your thing you’re on a roll, Bosh, you’ve had a couple of bad games but I know you’ll bounce back. Shuttlesworth, you are proving why you are a good candidate for being a 6th man, keep doing what you do. Rashard, where you at man!? You were doing things in earlier games, but then you became stagnant? Whats going on?

And I’m not saying this because of these last 2 games. Heat have been mingling with fire for awhile now and the fire has caught up. Its time to get back to playing our game, playing to our identity and playing up to our potential. Defense wins the ships, that hasn’t changed and never will.

I Hate the Title, “Artist”

Its one of those things where, I hate it so much I love it. Literally.

There’s a couple of ways on how you can look at it because the title “artist” has so many definitions. Its not just one thing, but many things.

I actually meant it in the sense of music, but you can look at it in different ways.

The frustrating thing to me about this title is that many people devalue it if its not on a respectable level. That’s the crazy thing about being an artist. Having that title doesn’t seem to hold much weight. Sometimes I feel like its looked at as a joke.

Henceforth, the saying, “the starving artist”. It can at times be on the same playing field as a homeless person.

That’s pretty low, but I think its safe to say that no one wants the slightest idea of, let alone the actual title of being, “homeless”.

These points can both be said about the visual artist and the musician/band artist. Without the buzz, the attention, the money backing you, the popularity etc., being an “Artist” can be the worst thing on the planet.

These are the elements, in which are needed for one with the title, “artist”, should have. Its a must. You are displaying an art, your creativity, your concept of beauty.

Artists thrive from the love of the people, the masses.

I love art and I have much respect for artists. Its not an easy thing to have that title. Talk about going through so much hate just to get to the love. Especially nowadays. Supporting that title is not as feasible as it has been in past years.

People are hesitant when it comes to supporting this profession. People can buy a $5 mocha from Starbucks, but can’t or refuse to spend a $1 on itunes to support an artist.

Artists these days have to pay to perform when they are providing a service which is entertainment. Artists should be getting paid for this service.

People don’t realize how much work goes into putting a stellar song together, from production to writing the lyrics to studio time. Then more work is put in to rehearse the performance. Then wardrobe and image is a huge factor. An artist must play their role, their character.

Then there’s the matter of transportation, promoting, getting your name out there. Major marketing is involved. All of these features are not cheap. There are other things as well, but I think these are the main characteristics.

It makes you hate it just thinking about it. This title is different from other titles or at least what comes with it. With this title, you don’t have to have a degree. With other titles that are treated more prestigious, a degree is required in most cases and a combination of experience. Talent alone is disguised by knowledge, unlike “Artist”, talent is open with creativity and we all know that art is objective.

A hard truth. You have to break out of it. There is much love in the title, but the same love that comes with it, is the same love that makes you hate it.
